We recently completed a complete rear cap replacement on a 2009 Tiffin Phaeton Motorhome. Unfortunately our customer had done extensive damage to the rear cap of his RV, the fiberglass was cracked from top to bottom on the right side of the rear cap, which also caused extreme spider cracking throughout the whole cap.
We were able to order a new rear cap through Tiffin which took a few weeks to get because they are built once the order is placed and shipping something that large across the country is not easy!
Once the cap arrived at our facility it took a few days to fit it on the coach properly also to make sure it was fastened and reinforced properly. Once the cap was installed the very large task of painting it began.
Our painters used a paint mask to re-create the design that was on the original cap. Each section was given a particular color and once a color was painted, the cap had to be de-masked and re-masked to apply the next color. The RV spent about 5 days in the booth during this process but came out beautifully and looked like it had come straight from the factory.
Once the RV was completed it looked great and we were very happy with the repair and paint work, and so was our customer!
