We had a customer come to us with a puncture in the front cap filon/fiberglass on his 2003 Keystone Cougar. Due to the condition of the filon, the front cap had other damage. The decals were faded, and the gel coat was oxidized. We offered the customer an alternative repair to strengthen the structure of the front cap and provide more protection from road debris that often hit the lower front cap.
The filon was completely removed and white kote aluminum was installed from the top to the center of the front cap. From the center of the front cap down we installed aluminum tread-brite material. This material is much more sturdy than filon and will not be punctured or compromised by road debris during travel. Our customer was very pleased with the repair ascetically and structurally.
