After coming in contact with a small pole at a gas station a customer brought their 2003 Itasca Spirit to us for repair. The sidewall had tears in the fiberglass, the rear wall was separated from the sidewall, and the bumper was bent. Fortunately, Winnebago and Itasca parts are almost always available which makes these jobs much easier. The parts can take up to 4 weeks to receive from the manufacturer, but once they arrive the job goes very quickly.
During the teardown of the coach dry rot in the repair area was found. The dry rot was a result of water getting inside the sidewall over a period of time and rotting the wood underlayment underneath the filon. This was also repaired as a courtesy to the customer, as insurance companies generally do not cover any kind of water damage.
